Why did you choose to study electrical engineering?
In 2014, I gave graduate aptitude test examination (GATE). While preparing for the examination i realized that i had a proclivity towards wireless communication and networking. I remember asking a lot of questions while studying and trying to have a thorough understanding of the concepts. This motivated me to pursue masters in electrical engineering.
What are your favorite aspects of or areas of interest in EE?
Electrical engineering has helped me to think pragmatically. It has enhanced my logical reasoning and helped me to make the right decisions not only in my work but also in day to day activities.
What makes UB Electrical Engineering special?
My UB experience has been really amazing. This is due to the in depth learning and comprehensive curriculum at UB. UB EE has distinguished faculty with really great pedagogy skills. I firmly believe that i have been able to get a job in my dream company because of the UB coursework, faculty and some really interesting projects that i did during my masters.
Any notable memories?
To be honest, I have a lot of good memories at UB. My favorite memory would be the IoT project that me and my team made in 3rd semester. The project helped me to learn new skills such as RTOS, embedded systems and full stack web development. It also helped me to get a thorough understanding of how data flows from application layer to physical layer.
What career have your pursued?
I am currently working as Modem Systems Engineer at Qualcomm in San Diego. My work is mainly focused on the upper layers (MAC, RLC, PDCP) of the new standard NR for 5G cellular communication.
