Bloomberg is the world's largest private data network designed to serve critical, time-sensitive financial applications. I lead the team that develops software systems to manage, configure and monitor Bloomberg data network in order to provide highest quality of service to Bloomberg products including Bloomberg Terminal, Electronic Trading & Enterprise Solutions businesses. These systems include high-volume, distributed systems with integration with various hardware and software vendor systems as well as customer networks. Bloomberg network is also a large content hosting solution with servers distributed globally. I develop algorithms and systems to deliver requested data from appropriate content servers to the consumer end points in the fastest and reliable way possible.
I also lead the team that develops systems to monitor Bloomberg FIX (Financial Information eXchange protocol) connectivity used by customers to trade financial securities with Bloomberg or other Brokers and Exchanges worldwide. My team also supports Bloomberg Feeds connectivity between exchanges and Bloomberg as well as between Bloomberg and customers.
I also lead efforts in the areas of automated software distribution and deployment to Bloomberg servers as well as to customers, manage router configurations and manage connectivity of customer applications.
