TRT World, the English language public broadcaster in Turkey, interviewed Michel Bruneau, SUNY Distinguished Professor in the Department of Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering, about the massive earthquakes that happened last week in Turkey and Syria.

“The knowledge in earthquake engineering has been increasing progressively over the past decades, and that buildings we can design today can withstand earthquakes of the size that have struck Turkey, but that’s not necessarily the case for the older construction.”
