Buffalo Business First quoted Kemper Lewis, dean of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, and Carl Lund, chair of the school’s Department of Engineering Education, in a story about engineering education during the pandemic.

“When the pandemic hit, you’d think engineers were thinking in a certain way, and if you upset them they couldn’t deal with that ambiguity. That couldn’t be further from the truth. Faculty are now doing lectures on Twitch. Most hadn’t heard of it a year ago,” Lewis said.

Lund discussed the ups and downs of teaching remotely. “The hard part was the in-class part, where I’d usually be looking over shoulders and collaborating. To translate that to Zoom, it loses something in the translation,” Lund said. “A lot of things we were forced to learn, but we learned this was pretty effective.”
