The Innovation of the Week column in the Boston Globe features research by Wenyao Xu, assistant professor of computer science and engineering, who developed a computer security system that uses radar to read an individual’s personal heart rate signature.

“Cardiac scan measures the live cardiac motion, which depends on the cardiac muscle structure of the user, and therefore is impossible to completely mimic,” he said.
