Adly T. Fam (S'75—M'77—SM'92) was born in Egypt on November 25, 1946. He received his B.S.E.E. degree from Cairo University, Egypt, in 1968, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of California, Irvine, in 1975 and 1977, respectively. He joined the department of electrical engineering at the University at Buffalo in 1977, where he has been a professor since 1987. He has over 120 journal and conference publications and four patents in the areas of system theory, digital signal processing, arithmetic-intensive computing, computer arithmetic, radar, and communications codes.
