Beginning this year, the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences initiated five new awards to recognize faculty excellence in teaching and research.
The awards were presented during the annual SEAS holiday party by Dean Liesl Folks and Rajan Batta, associate dean for faculty affairs and chair of the SEAS awards committee.
Nominated by fellow faculty and vetted by a newly created SEAS Awards committee, 19 junior and senior faculty received the inaugural awards.
“Separate awards for research and teaching were thought to be appropriate in order to recognize both educational and research excellence, elements that are important to SEAS,” said Rajan Batta.
The awards and recipients are as follows.
