Saha wins trio of networking awards

Swetank Kumar Saha (PhD Candidate '18) has won a trio of networking awards this October, all based on his work associated with the NSF CAREER and CRI-funded Millimeter Wave Networking Project.

  • 1st prize at the SEAS lightning talks competitiona $300 awardfor his talk titled, "Fast and Infuriating: Building Super-Fast WiFi", at the SEAS Career Perspectives Networking Conference on October 5. Lightning talks are structured back-to-back three minute pitches given by students and company representatives.
  • 3rd prize in the ACM Student Research Competition at MobiCom 2017 in Salt Lake City on October 19.
  • Runner-up for Best Paper Award at ACM WiNTECH 2017 (a MobiCom-affiliated workshop) as first author on a paper titled, "X60: A Programmable Testbed for Wideband 60 GHz WLANs with Phased Arrays" on October 20.  Swetank collaborated with authors from the UB Electrical Engineering Department and Rice University.
