SWE Virtual Congressional Visit Day: A Recap

Jennifer Winikus, an assistant professor of teaching in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, co-authored a blog post on All Together with several Society of Women Engineers (SWE) colleagues. They reflected on why advocacy is important, shared personal stories and put forward recommendations for fellow advocates and future Capitol Hill visitors, following their virtual Congressional Visit Day on April 14.

The group met with Sens. Schumer and Gillibrand on Zoom during the annual visit.

Winikus is secretary of the Western New York section of the Society of Women Engineers Western New York Sectionand a WE Local Advisory Board Member.
