A pro-Ron DeSantis ad used AI to create Donald Trump’s voice. It won’t be the last, experts say.

Politifact and Poynter quoted Siwei Lyu in an article discussing how a pro-Ron DeSantis ad was able to use AI to recreate Donald Trump’s voice to read out loud an attack against Iowa Govenor Kim Reynolds.

Lyu found the example to be "not hugely misleading" since there is no twisting of the message, however, he notes there are potentially more problematic uses. WLRN News and WJCT News republished the article.
