ABC News affiliate WHAM 13, published a report about PocketCare+, a contact tracing app that UB researchers are developing to help slow the spread of COVID-19 and other infectious diseases.

The report quotes project leader Chunming Qiao, SUNY Distinguished Professor and chair of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, who said the app could work better than traditional contact tracing.

"I think it will be more effective," he says. "Because, as a human being, we just don't remember everything. You certainly would not be able to recall strangers you've been in contact with."
