An article on Android Authority, a technology news outlet with a readership of 7 million, reports on research by Wenyao Xu, assistant professor of computer science and engineering in the UB School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, to develop a “brain password,” which measures an individual’s brainwaves in response to a series of pictures and can be used to unlock smartphones and other devices.
“You can’t grow a new fingerprint or iris if that information is divulged,” he said. “That’s why we’re developing a new type of password – one that measures your brainwaves in response to a series of pictures.
