An article in Business First interviews Shambhu Upadhyaya, professor of computer science and engineering, about the WannaCry ransomware attack, what’s next in internet hacking and some of the issues with defending internet systems.

“We’ve developed something called keystroke dynamics, which monitors the rhythm and typing of people using artificial intelligence. So if there is any change, if somebody impersonates you, it can be flagged and protected. People have been talking about eliminating passwords, but that’s still wishful thinking for now, so they remain the real problem,” he said.
