A good, hard look at prestressed concrete

An article in Construction Digest about prestressed concrete, a process that puts compressive stress on the concrete before it is inserted into the final structure, mentions that researchers from UB and Purdue University, in conjunction with bridge engineering firm Modjeski & Masters, are looking into post-tensioned concrete.

The work at UB was led by Michel Bruneau, SUNY Distinguished Professor in the Department of Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering.
