NFPA presents awards for contributions in fire and life safety

Firehouse reports that the National Fire Protection Association will award its Foundation Medal to Negar Elhami Khorasani, assistant professor in the Department of Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering.

Elhami Khorasani and her colleagues received the award for their work on a project titled, "Digitized Fuel Load Survey Methodology Using Machine Vision."

Co-authors include Juan Gustavo Salado Castillo, Esther Saula, Timothy Josephs and Gauhar Nurlybekova, all students in UB's Department of Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering, and Thomas Gernay, an assistant professor in the Department of Civil and Systems Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
