Haiqing Lin Recognized as a UB Exceptional Scholar

The Sustained Achievement Award honors recognize senior scholars for their outstanding performance in the recent segment of their careers.

He is addressing some of the most important problems - related to climate change and provision of clean, safe water supplies - that are facing humanity today, while providing outstanding research experiences to our students." said Mark Swihart, CBE department chair.

Earning his Ph.D. from the University of Texas Austin, Lin joined the University at Buffalo in 2013 and leads a research program on novel membrane materials for gas separations and water purification. Among other notable projects, Lin currently leads a $3.8 million U.S Department of Energy project on CO₂ capture. Lin's research also earned him the 2020 AlChE Separation Division Innovation Award for his contributions to the development of membrane materials for CO₂ capture. Lin was also elected as a board member of the North American Membrane Society in 2020, a position for the most active members leading projects to promote and advance membrane technologies.
