Professional Critique of Technical Presentations for CBE Graduate Students

When Masters and Ph.D. students go for on-site job interviews, they are usually expected to give a technical presentation on their research to a group of employees. The usual allotted time is 1 hour, including questions. Depending on the position and company, the audience will consist of people with varied technical backgrounds and only a few subject matter experts, if any. The goal of this project is for the student to present a 40 minute technical talk on their research work as if they were going for a job interview. Everyone is encouraged to attend and support your fellow students.

Schedule of Presentations:

6/26 @ 1:00PM Shreya Mukherjee [Wu Group]

6/26 @ 2:30PM Mohammadmoein Mohammadi [Swihart Group]

6/28 @ 1:00PM Janel Abbott [Wu Group]

6/28 @ 2:30PM Viswanath Pasumarthi [Dupuis Group]

Dr. Sarigiannis will provide feedback based on his experience in industry.

Biography

Lifelong learner interested in how science and engineering principles apply to our world. I'm looking to make the move from industry to academia. I've spent my career collaborating with a diverse group of technical and business people from many cultures to develop new processes, products and materials across different industries. I've learned to explain complex technical topics to people with a range of educational backgrounds, from high school graduates to Ph.D.’s. Currently looking for an opportunity to pass on industrial experience and a love of applied science to future generations.
