Aerospace America reported that MAE graduate student Brandon Soto and Javid Bayandor won first place in the graduate student category for their project, “Partial Optimization of Spacecraft Sandwich Shielding from Hypervelocity Impacts,” at the AIAA 2026 Regional Student Conference.
