New Scientist story about building wind turbines with wood quoted John Hall, assistant professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering.

Hall thinks the idea of wooden turbines is promising because demand for turbines in the coming decades is going to put the steel industry under severe pressure. “If [the industry] begins to experience shortages or anything that is going to slow its growth, I think it will be open to innovation,” he said.
