From birds on Venus to swimming robots, NASA unveils mind-blowing projects

Newsweek reported that Javid Bayandor, associate professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, was one of several researchers to receive $600,000 in funding from the NASA Innovative Advanced Concepts program to develop technology for use in space.

The project – Bio-inspired Ray for Extreme Environments and Zonal Exploration (BREEZE) – will allow scientists to remotely explore Venus from the air using a robot that combines inflatable structures with inspiration from flying animals.
