Optics.org reports on a dual-scan mammoscope system developed by UB researchers led by Jun Xia, associate professor of biomedical engineering.
The system combines photoacoustic and ultrasonic imaging, has a “high potential” for breast cancer imaging. Postdoctoral scholar Nikhila Nyayapathi presented information on the work during a recent conference.
