John Crassidis, the Samuel P. Capen Chair Professor and SUNY Distinguished Professor of aerospace engineering, appeared live twice Saturday on Fox News to discuss Inspiration 4, the first all-civilian spaceflight to orbit Earth.
“It’s historic because it’s an all-civilian crew, the first time ever. Just think where we were 50 years ago … it’s just an amazing result that we have today.” He said he hopes the flight inspires children to pursue studies in science, technology, engineering and math. “I hope they’re all inspired to go into STEM fields because of missions like this,” he said.
