Deborah D.L. Chung, Niagara Mohawk Professor of Materials Research in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, wrote an obituary that appeared in Nature for her mentor and PhD thesis advisor, longtime Massachusetts Institute of Technology professor Mildred S. Dresselhaus.
Dresselhaus was known as the "Queen of Carbon Science," who helped pioneer nanoscience and launched a new field of energy research.
