DEE student Akosua Abu published an article in The Journal of Black Excellence in Engineering, Science and Technology about navigating the challenges of higher education as a Black woman in engineering and mentioned working with Monica Miles  and other UB students to launch Buffalo’s first EPA Flag Program.
