Phys.org reports on UB studies finding that nanoshell catalysts can turn greenhouse gases into useful chemicals.

“To meet the objectives of the Paris Agreement, to reach carbon neutrality, we must implement many changes to both energy generation and production of chemical feedstocks,” says the studies’ lead author Mark Swihart, SUNY Distinguished Professor and chair of the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering. Eleni Kyrikidou, assistant professor in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, and Shuo Liu, a PhD candidate in Swihart’s lab, are c-authors of the studies.
