Stelios Andreadis was awarded a new R01 grant from the National Institute of Aging (NIA) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to develop novel, high-throughput technologies to discover novel genes and pathways for restoring the differentiation potential of senescent (aged) stem cells. The work will improve our understanding of stem cell aging and will likely discover novel molecular regulators of stem cell fate decisions. As a result, it is expected to facilitate the use of stem cells in regenerative medicine and as pharmacological test beds for ameliorating the effects of aging.
