Souma Chowdhury and two mechanical engineering alumni  received a best paper award at the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) Special Interest Group On Applied Computing’s annual symposium.  

Six students from SEAS participated in a first-of-its-kind study abroad earlier this summer. The students were the first United States cohort to participate in a European Union BEST course, joining European students in Iasi, Romania.

The Dallas Morning News reports that a research team that includes Souma Chowdhury (MAE) have developed an artificial intelligence model designed to help electrical grids prevent power outages.

Utah Public Radio reported that MAE undergraduate students Stanley Smykowski and Mitchell Thurston represented UB’s Nano Satellite Lab at the 38th Small Satellite Conference at Utah State University.
