Pro Bono/volunteer projects for grads and undergrads

UB INFORMS Student Chapter is inviting motivated graduate and undergraduate students to volunteer for potential Pro Bono projects with not-for-profit organizations in Buffalo. Our chapter has identified two organizations with whom our project teams would work closely in this semester, and the objective is to complete the work by the end of this semester. This work might require 3-4 hours of effort from you every week, including visiting the organizations' offices.

Possible project areas:

  • inventory control
  • supply chain
  • predictive modeling

Some basic skills expected in:

  • data analysis
  • operations research
  • computer programming

These projects could become an official INFORMS Pro Bono Project in the future. Also, it would look good on your resumes, because you would be working on real world problems using real data.

Please contact Vineet Madasseri Payyappalli by February 10th, if you want to sign up or have questions.
