A three-day interdisciplinary conference focusing on big data and high-performance computing kicks off on April 26.

Hosted by the Institute for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, the conference is called IAD Days.

It “brings some of the nation’s most prominent scholars of data-enabled science to Buffalo for workshops, lectures and networking,” organizers say. The conference also “increases educational opportunity and employability for students, attracts new graduate students to UB, and boosts research opportunities for aligned faculty members,” according to organizers.

Speakers represent industry groups such as Microsoft, IBM and United Imaging Intelligence. In addition to UB, academic presenters represent Case Western Reserve University and the University of California, Berkeley.

Presentations will focus on artificial intelligence, data science, high-performance computing, online misinformation, deepfakes and other topics. Speakers come from a variety of academic backgrounds, including political science, communication, computer science, biochemistry, mathematics, sociology and other fields.

The conference was previously known as CDSE Days.
