The Buffalo News reported that UB researchers, including Jiayu Peng, Yinyin Ye and Vasili Perebeinos, have secured three grants from the Department of Energy's Genesis Mission program. 

The funding supports UB’s efforts to develop new technologies that boost the nation’s industrial competitiveness, address complex challenges.

Technology.org featured research by Vasili Perebeinos and colleagues from Rice University on using films of carbon nanotubes to convert the color of light at greater magnitudes than conventional materials. 

The team will use AI and quantum science to apply 2D materials to satellite sensors, radiation shields and quantum computing.
