Buffalo Business First wrote about the research of Ruogang Zhao, an associate professor of biomedical engineering, who is working on 3D printing of engineered tissue.

His research was published in February in the journal Advanced Healthcare Materials. Zhao is quick to point out this isn’t something that’s available now, or even in a couple of years, but early signs are positive. “That’s really our long-term goal to make this a working, transplantable organ that can help patients, but maybe in 20 years,” he said. “As scientists, we don’t want to discourage the general public, saying everything is so far away, but in the scientific community we know we have to be conservative.”
