Garwood Medical looks ahead to clinical trials through UB

The Buffalo News reports that Garwood Medical Devices, a startup company that licenses technology developing in the lab of biomedical engineer Mark Ehrensberger, is ready to begin swine studies for BioPrax, a minimally-invasive device that uses low-voltage electricity to treat infections and kill bacteria on the surface of joint replacements.

The story reports that Garwood's lead scientist, Mary Canty, a PhD alumna from the Department of Biomedical Engineering, works primarily out of the Center for Excellence in Bioinformatics and Life Sciences.
