Dandan Luo wins prestigious fellowship

Dandan Luo, a PhD student in Biomedical Engineering, has been awarded a prestigious fellowship from the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS).
The 2017 AAPS Foundation Graduate Student Fellowship is awarded to five students on a merit basis. The award provides a $10,000 fellowship. The award recognizes students’ excellence in their academic performance and validates that their research is deemed outstanding by an expert panel of outside pharmaceutical scientists.
Dandan completed her BS in Pharmaceutical Sciences at Chongqing Medical University in China prior to joining the Lovell lab at UB. Her work involves developing and assessing new drug formulations for light-triggered drug release. She has led research on this topic that has been published in journals including Biomaterials, Journal of Controlled Release, and Small.
