Kevin Burke, an associate professor of teaching in the Department of Electrical Engineering, has been named associate dean for student affairs in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. The appointment is effective April 1. 

SEAS alum Christopher Scolese is the recipient of the National Space Trophy, recognizing his outstanding contributions to space discovery, exploration and advancement. 

Tech Transfer Central reported on the launch of UB’s Center for Advanced Semiconductor Technologies.

Ram Krishnamurthy was named one of the 2023 Mahboob Khan Outstanding Liaison Award winners. 

The center aligns with the Buffalo-Rochester-Syracuse region being designated a federal tech hub under the CHIPS and Science Act in 2022.

The center will advance research and development that will support the semiconductor industry. 

Huamin Li, assistant professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, was recognized by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Region 1 for his role as a mentor with the 2023 IEEE Region 1 Young Professionals Award.

Zheng has been recognized for his contributions to energy storage technologies.
