Senior Human Factors Engineer at Leidos, Transportation Solutions Air Traffic program

Jiun-Yin (a.k.a. Irene) Jian is currently a Senior Human Factors Engineer at Leidos, Transportation Solutions Air Traffic program. Irene began her career at Stevens Institute of Technology as a Postdoctoral Research Associate for a project funded by Office of Naval Research. She then joined Shell Oil Company working on projects for various Shell onshore and offshore facilities. 

At Lockheed Martin, Irene was a Senior Human Factors Design Staff under the FAA En Route Automation Modernization (ERAM) program - in which one of her human-computer interface designs, Ground-based Interval Management-Spacing, in supporting NextGen was implemented in the system and confirmed correct posting at Denver Air Route Traffic Control Center in July 2015.

She held positions department manager, project manager, and Principal Consultant at WS Atkins where she provided human factors, technical safety, or project manager support to numerous clients in oil & gas, rail & transit, renewable energy, and semiconductor industries.

Irene is a Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE), Project Management Professional (PMP), and certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. She received her MS in Industrial Engineering from the University at Buffalo ’96 and PhD from Texas Tech University.
