Departmental Tours, Talks and Presentations

9:45 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. | Various locations

Current SEAS students will escort you to take tours of facilities, and listen to talks and presentations. Please remain seated until your department of interest is called.

Biomedical Engineering

[ 9:45 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. ]  218 Norton Hall

Attend an overview of the undergraduate program in Biomedical Engineering. 

[ 10:45 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. ]  Bonner Hall, third floor

Meet and greet with BME faculty and students. 

  • Visit teaching labs
  • Participate in a biosignal measurement
  • Meet our student clubs
     

Chemical and Biological Engineering

[ 9:45 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. ]  14 Knox Hall 

Attend an overview of the undergraduate program in Chemical and Biological Engineering. Guided tours to:

  • Unit Operations Lab
  • Transport Process Lab
  • Research Lab

Following the tours departmental representatives and current students will be available in 206 Furnas Hall to discuss the program.

Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering

[ 9:45 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. ] 110 Knox Hall 

Attend an overview of the undergraduate programs in Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering.

[ 10:45 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. ] Guided tours to:

  • Earthquake Simulation Lab
  • Environmental Engineering Labs
  • Student clubs

The Directors of Undergraduate Studies and current students will be available to answer questions about the program in 140 Ketter Hall.

Computer Science and Engineering

[ 9:45 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. ] Slee Concert Hall

Attend an overview of the undergraduate programs in Computer Science and Engineering. 

[ 10:45 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. ] Davis Hall Atrium, first floor

Following the presentation in Slee Concert Hall, students will escort guests to Davis Hall where they can view lab and project demos by current CSE students, chat with current CSE students in our Q&A session, and learn about CSE clubs.

Electrical Engineering

[ 9:45 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. ] 101 Davis Hall 

Attend an overview of the undergraduate program in Electrical Engineering. 

[ 10:15 a.m. — 11:30 a.m. ] Davis Hall, second floor

After the presentation, faculty and current students will provide info on the program and answer questions. Enjoy refreshments and tour several teaching and research labs, including:

  • Optics and Photonics Lab
  • Extreme Environment Communications Lab
  • Solid State Electronics Lab
  • Wireless Communications Lab

Information and demos from EE student clubs will also be provided.

Industrial and Systems Engineering

[ 9:45 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. ] Bell Hall lobby and 341 Bell Hall

Presentations and tours will be continually available from 9:45 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Students and faculty will be on hand to provide information about the undergraduate program in Industrial and Systems Engineering and answer questions. Guided tours and demonstrations to:

  • 3D Printing 
  • Robotic Manufacturing
  • Full Scale Patient Lifting Task
  • Workplace Safety Monitoring and Worker Capacity Evaluation
     

Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering

Concurrent sessions will be offered from 9:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.

Attend an overview of the undergraduate program in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.

Undecided Majors

Attend a session that includes a panel discussion of current SEAS students.  

[ 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. ] Guided tours may include:

  • Digital Manufacturing Laboratory
  • Engineering Machine Shop
  • Materials Characterization Laboratory
  • Davis Clean Room
  • UB Motorsports
