CSC, recently retired
Gina B. Hammond, PMP, MS ’73, is recently "retired" after nearly forty years of progressively challenging positions within the computer science field serving in programming, systems analysis, program management, consulting and contract management.
While at CSC (formerly Computer Sciences Corporation) Mrs. Hammond served as a Director and Vice President, managing sophisticated contracts employing many hundreds of employees. Her work spanned many different areas of governmental contracting with assignments supporting both the civilian and defense divisions to include the General Services Administration, the Environmental Protection Agency, The Department of Agriculture, the Department of Labor and all branches of the military.
Most recently Mrs. Hammond has been responding to Requests for Proposals on behalf of the Army business group. She is the holder of professional certifications in Executive Leadership (Cornell University) and as a Project Management Professional (PMP).
"Retired" for Mrs. Hammond means that she is now a "casual" employee working on call for CSC as needed. Gina received a BA degree in mathematics from Vassar College where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and an MS degree in computer science from UB. She has been honored to receive the Dean’s Award for Achievement from the School of Engineering in 2009 and the Distinguished Alumni Award from the UB Alumni Association in 2011.
