CSE Demo Day

Each semester, student groups from several Department of Computer Science and Engineering capstone classes present the culmination of three months of effort, hard work, (metaphorical) blood, sweat (well... caffeine really), and tears.

The CSE Demo Day showcases the work of upper-level software development courses. The set of participating courses changes each semester.  In Spring 2019, there were more than 36 teams of students from CSE 611, CSE 702, CSE 700, CSE 467/LIN 667, and CSE 4/562.  Industry judges from ACV Auctions, M&T Bank, Stark and Wayne, Vertica, and CUBRC rated the participants on many factors, ranging from creativity to commercial and research potential, with prizes were awarded to the top teams.

New this spring, we added the Database Bake-Off—a competition in which student database developers race their homemade databases to see whose system can complete a standard set of SQL queries in the fastest time.

The Spring CSE Demo Day was held on May 10, 2019 in Davis Hall. The website is here.
