An article in WalletHub concerning which states are most vulnerable to identity theft and fraud quotes UB computer science and engineering professor Shambhu Upadhyaya.

He says people should “follow security best practice guidelines – use strong passwords, apply patches regularly, be wary of unrecognizable emails and do not open attachments if you are not sure about the source of the email.”
