Cap Contest Winners

1st Place Winner

Heather Evangelista

"Since everyone is getting crafty during quarantine, craft supplies were pretty much gone in all stores. I worked with any old craft supplies I had from high school, such as markers, printer paper, and gold cardstock.

I chose the quote " What I stand for, is what I stand on" because as an environmental engineer, protecting the Earth and all its inhabitants is a priority. Behind this quote, I drew earth using leaves and vines in the shapes of all continents."

2nd Place Winner

Leah Nolan

"I designed the cap with a rocket, the logo for the Brooke Owens Fellowship, the Moog logo and finally an ode to my parents for all their love and support.

I chose this quote because engineering is about creating something - and I created a life for myself that I am incredibly excited for. I am graduating this spring with my B.S. in MAE. Upon graduation I will be a Product Engineer at Moog Space & Defense Group and plan to attend UB for my Masters in Eng. Management part time this fall."

3rd Place Winner

Smrati Kushwah

"My UB Grad Cap is comprised of some of the places in UB that became a part of any UB student's everyday life. Campus, that makes us bulls feel at home! Everything in the cap is handcrafted as my ode to UB :)"
