SEAS CMS User Group

Each month, UB CMS users from various departments, centers and offices within the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences meet to discuss best practices.

This is a working group where we help each other solve issues, share experiences and work together to share content within the UB CMS in a more efficient and effective way. Our goal is to create a more consistent voice, comply with university brand and accessibility standards, and create a positive user experience while highlighting the things that make us unique.

If you are an employee or partner of SEAS whose job responsibilities involve updating web content and you would like to attend, please contact our office at

CMS Training and Support

In-person and online training in the UB CMS is available from University Communications. Visit the UB Web Management site for more information about training and support.

Making Your Site Accessible

As we continue to update our websites to comply with university brand standards, we must also ensure all of our websites are accessible. The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (federal ADA website), specifically Section 508, as well as parallel state regulations require all significant elements of a website to be fully accessible. Here accessibility refers to the design of services for people with visual, physical or cognitive impairments. Accessible practice ensures unassisted direct access and compatibility with assistive technology such as a screen reader.

One way to check if your website is compliant is to audit your website using the WebAIM's WAVE tool.

SEAS is also part of a pilot group for a university-wide instance of Siteimprove. More information to come.
