Education: AS in General Studies, Monroe Community College; BA in Public Relations, SUNY Oswego; MA in Higher Education Administration, Stony Brook University.
Academic Path: I definitely wasn’t the strongest student in high school, but I always knew I wanted to pursue higher education—and that I wanted the “going away to college” experience. As a Buffalo native, I started out at Monroe Community College before transferring to my goal institution, SUNY Oswego.
While at Oswego, I found myself drawn to the student support staff and became curious about their work. One day, I Googled whether you could actually study or work in Higher Education—specifically in areas like advising—and low and behold, you can! I applied to graduate school, and the rest is history.
My professional career began at Genesee Community College as an Academic Advisor supporting General Studies and Pre-Health students. Eventually, I knew I wanted to return closer to home—and since I went to high school in UB’s backyard, it just made sense (Go Sweet Home Panthers!). My UB journey began in the Office of Academic Integrity and has since come full circle back to what feels like “home”: academic advisement in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences!
Outside of UB, I also serve as an adjunct instructor for College Success and First-Year Experience courses at both GCC and MCC.
Specialty Area: The Transfer Student Experience
Hobbies and Interests: I would be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy a good TikTok binge. I love spending time with friends—whether we’re shopping, trying new restaurants, or traveling. I also have a pit bull named Taz, the sweetest boy ever (always happy to share pictures!). And when it comes to football, there’s only one team for me… Go Bills!
