Abstract

Researchers and developers of extended reality (XR) technologies that support learning investigate how digital technologies can be used to create engaging and effective educational experiences. Within this space, virtual (VR) and augmented (AR) reality sit among an ever-expanding set of devices and other technologies with affordances for creating innovative learning opportunities. In this workshop, we will discuss the state of the field, including current research and development projects that use AR and VR to support learning. To that conversation, we will add the task of collaboratively exploring our individual interests in the context of XR for learning and our beliefs about where we can and should be designing and implementing educational XR experiences.
