EE Alumnus, C.L. Max Nikias, honored for his diversity efforts as a leader in higher education

USC President C.L. Max Nikias (PhD '82, MS '80, electrical engineering)  received the 2016 Diversity Award from the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department Heads Association Annual Conference and ECExpo, held on March 21, 2016.

The award is given to an organization or individual whose proactive efforts increase cultural, ethnic and gender diversity within the Electrical and Computer Engineering student body and among ECE faculty. Nikias's recognition was based on his efforts to boost diversity across USC's student population.

Nikias was nominated for the Diversity Award by Prof. Stella Batalama, chair of UB's  Department of Electrical Engineering in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.
