RehabPhone: 3D printing & smartphones effective in customized therapy for stroke patients

3DPrint.com published an article on research led by UB's Department of Computer Science and Engineering that resulted in the development of the RehabPhone, a smartphone software tool that allows for home-based rehab using 3D-printed tools.

The team's innovative study was recently published in ‘RehabPhone: A Software-Defined Tool Using 3D Printing and Smartphones for Personalized Home-based Rehabilitation.’

Associate professor Wenyao Xu and Hanbin Zhang, Gabriel Guo, Emery Comstock, Baicheng Chen, Xingyu Chen, Chen Song, Jerry Ajay, all from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, associale professor Lora Cavuoto, Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, Jeanne Langan, of UB's Department of Rehabilitation Science and UB alumna from the Department of Rehabilitation Science Sutanuka Bhattacharjya, now at Georgia State University, are co-authors on the paper.
