Ken Regan, associate professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and an expert on cheating in chess, was interviewed on As it Happens, one of Canada’s most popular and acclaimed shows on CBC Radio.
The segment, which focuses on the shift to online tournaments and the rise in cheating, begins just after the 49 minute mark of the Oct. 20 show, which also airs on numerous U.S. radio channels.
“I try to predict moves that players will make,” Regan says of his model that detects chess cheating. He notes he has been swamped with requests since the pandemic began.
