Anastasopoulos named executive associate editor of Analytical Methods in Accident Research journal

Panagiotis Ch. Anastasopoulos, Stephen E. Still Chair of Transportation Engineering, director of the Stephen Still Institute for Sustainable Transportation and Logistics, and associate professor in Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering, has been appointed an executive associate editor of Analytic Methods in Accident Research, a transportation engineering journal.

The journal publishes topics associated with the development and/or application of innovative statistical and econometric methods to the study of vehicle crashes and other transportation and non-transportation related accidents. Analytic Methods in Accident Research is the top-ranked transportation journal in terms of impact factor, ranked 1 out of 37 according to Clarivate Analytics, and ranked 1 out of 113 journals in the same area according to Scopus’s CiteScore metrics. According to Elsevier, “the impact factor measures the average number of citations received in a particular year by papers published in the journal during the two preceding years.”

Anastasopoulos’ research ranges from traffic safety and engineering economics to statistical and econometric methods and applications of engineering problems, and the reliability and sustainability of infrastructure systems and crisis management. He has published over 160 papers, book chapters, and reports, including a best-seller textbook. He has presented multiple papers at international conferences, and has collaborated with government agencies, the professional industry and representatives from the School of Management, Industrial Systems and Engineering Department and other entities at UB.
