Dr. Zhenduo Zhu joined the department in 2016 following the completion of his PhD at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Zhu's research focuses on understanding the dynamics of flow and transport processes in surface water systems, and how human activities in cities affect these dynamics relating to environmental and ecological problems.
His research interests span spatial scales from city and watershed, to Earth system, using both physics-based and machine learning water quality modeling. By developing integrated hydrological and water quality models across geographical scales, the goal of Dr. Zhu's research group is to find innovative solutions for sustainable development and surface water ecosystems.
