UB CBE had a large contingent of our undergraduates attend the 2025 AIChE Annual Student Conference in Boston.
Nicholas Reilly, Amelia Kelly, and Will Reid
Four students competed in the national poster competition, and three placed in their poster categories. Nicholas Reilly won third place in the catalysis reaction engineering division, Amelia Kelly won second in the material engineering and sciences division, and Will Reid won second for the environmental sciences division. Both Reilly and Kelly work with faculty in chemistry, and Reid presented his project as part of the research group in Assistant Professor Aurora del Carmen Munguía-López's along with Matthew Bablin, who also works in the Munguía-López lab.
The students had a great time and represented the University at Buffalo well. They plan to share their enthusiasm with the cohort coming up behind them to encourage future attendance and participation beyond UB for the AIChE student chapter. They also hope to compete in the ChemE Cube Competition in 2026.
The undergraduate students were joined by UB CBE BS alum and current graduate student Jada Mowatt.
