An article in Business First features Ogechi Ogoke, a UB student pursuing a PhD in chemical engineering, who won UB’s 2018-19 Western New York Prosperity Fellowship and founded a company that won the prestigious Henry A. Panasci Jr. Technology Entrepreneurship Competition.

The article notes that Ogoke has since moved away from that idea, and that he and Jesse Callanan, a PhD candidate in mechanical and aerospace engineering, are pursuing Ovana Life Sciences, a company that could be defined as a “bioengineering approach” that utilizes 3D printing technology to create encapsulated liver or kidney tissue for various uses.

"I want to be part of a growing trend of entrepreneurs in Buffalo that are giving it a shot," Ogoke said. "Of course I know that things could go wrong, but that's part of the journey and I wouldn't have it any other way."
